These beautiful earrings are representing the changing skies above us as a reminder to look up sometimes.

The brass frame is handcoiled and handshaped. The drop is made with Turkish cotton mercerized thread. It is 100% handmade in Istanbul by female Syrian refugees. The hooks are not silver plated. For those with any non silver/gold sensitivities, we sell silver plated hooks at £1 a pair which can be exchanged with these earrings hooks.

About Drop Earrings Not Bombs

Drop Earrings Not Bombs strives to provide women and men displaced by conflict the opportunity to develop skills in handicrafts and earn their livelihood in Istanbul, Turkey.

The earrings are handmade by Syrian women and men. Each pair is a unique display of creativity and design, a story told through the eyes of a person who has been through more than any one life should experience. The project creates a space for colour therapy, community building and artistic expression.
The proceeds from the Drop Earrings Not Bombs project goes back into Small Projects Istanbul, the community centre that is our home. It is here that the makers and wider community are provided with access to language support, business skills, mentoring, livelihood support and above all a rich network of friendships, paving the way for better futures.
