We all know that fair trade is an extremely effective way to support producers and their families in developing countries. Why not use your passion for fair trade to great effect by becoming a voluntary director of a local fair trade shop?
Fairtrade at St Michaels has been offering a unique shopping alternative to residents and visitors to Oxford since 2003. We are a dedicated and forward-looking team and are currently seeking a voluntary director to join us. The directors are responsible for the overall operation of the shop and work closely with the paid part-time staff. This is a great opportunity to share your valuable skills and to add to your range of experiences.
The board meets monthly and provides strategic direction, financial oversight, personnel management and marketing support. Professional experience in finance, marketing, HR or retail would be advantages, as would the willingness to contribute to the operational running of the shop on an occasional basis.
